Ke Zhou
Hi! I'm a first-year Computer Science Mphil Student at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology(GZ).
My research interests lie in intersection of extended reality(XR) and human-centered intelligence with a particular focus on leveraging efficient, data-driven techniques to enhance multimodal experiences on portable XR devices. I aim to employ AI-driven approaches to perceive and interpret user-centric data (e.g., eye tracking, hand gestures, physiological signals) and environmental information (e.g., physical properties, semantics) to:
1) Designing intelligent agents that provide real-time, adaptive guidance and personalized support to augment human capabilities and foster intuitive user experience.
2) Developing immersive computational frameworks to bridge the gap between between high-fidelity, low-latency visual requirements and strict hardware constraints to enhance user presence and comfort.
To enable these capabilities on resource-constrained mobile XR devices, I aim to build a robust infrastructure -- a distributed platform for XR which seamlessly offload heavy computational tasks to the edge/cloud to prioritize the strict motion-to-photon latency required for immersion, ensuring a stable and adaptive flow of resources. I drew the inspiration from FogROS.
Ultimately, my goal is to build next-generation extended reality systems that are both intelligent and immersive, integrating the virtual and physical world seamlessly.
Prior to HKUST(GZ), I received my Bachelor's degree at Chongqing University. During my undergraduate years, I was honored to be advised by Prof. Wai Tong from Texas A&M University and Prof. Teng Han from ISCAS. I also had the privilege to collaborate with Prof. Xiang Li from University of Cambridge (incoming assistant professor at Hong Kong University).
I am actively seeking PhD opportunities for Fall 2026 admission!

Outside my studies, I am a huge sport enthusiast including football (I mean soccer :)), badminton and long-distance running (I aim to run a marathon in the future). I also enjoy gaming and reading history books (especially on ancient China and World history).
